Department for Children, Schools and Families

Fair play – have your say

The Government's Children's Plan states that all children and young people should be able to play somewhere local, accessible and safe. The plan also says that children should have a say in what their play areas look like.

In order to help us build great play areas, the Department launched the Fair play – have your say activity poster on Thursday 3 July 2008. It includes questions that children can answer by ticking boxes as part of the Government's first ever national consultation on play. Children and young people also have the opportunity to draw their ideal play space, with a prize of a digital camera for the best one.

The competition will run until 18 August, the closing date for the children and young people's strand of the consultation.
